My kids are always asking us to get a dog. I keep saying no. We have 4 cats and I don't want to deal with a big dog running around the house, let alone out in the yard near the chicken runs.

Well today I was sifting through petfinder.org and I got sucker-punched by uber cuteness. If I could get this gal right now, I probably would. I've never seen a dog that just screamed "take me home". DH might not like that plan though.

Monarc, I'd have to do so much reading before we got a dog. I've never had one before. Potty training... aieee!

it can be frusterating esp with toy breeds in my experience medium sized and large dogs potty train a lot easier than the toy breeds. I honestly think the toybreeds just have a harder time holding thier bladder. Deffinatly research crate training. Many are against it...im one who's not.....my dog LOVES her crate and it's how I potty trained her....

I just got a puppy from petfinder too! I felt the same way you do, it was like a pull towards her. lol The only thing is this morning I got an email on what dogs and cats that are going to be killed this friday in NC, which really upset me. I wish I could save all of them!

Monarc, what an adorable dog! I'll keep the crate in mind. The listing said they've been training her with a crate.

tamelroy, awww. He looks like he's going to grow up to be a BIG puppy! - I decided a long time ago that I could never work in the Humane Society for exactly that reason. I'd go home crying practically every day due to having to put some animal to sleep.

Very cute puppy--I mostly see long-haired Chihuahua in her.

Just for the record, though, there's no such thing as an "AKC kennel" and any kennel that "breeds (so-called) hybrids" has nothing to do with the AKC other than to claim the association to appear to be legitimate.
