I'm Not Addicted to Chickens

I just said good-bye to her, at the CA meeting.

Chickens are a "gateway poultry" that can lead to harder livestock. One day you innocently think "I'd like to try chickens! Just once, then I'll quit if I don't like it." and a few years later, you have moved on to turkeys, and goats and pigs and rabbits, ducks and geese.

You feel you might need help, while you sit in the reclining chair, donating plasma to support your habit.

One day you come home from The Home Depot (chicken wire and wire staples) to find your entire family in the living room. When you enter, no one shouts "SURPRISE!" The word "intervention" is muttered though. Your sister tries to get you to sit down and tearfully pleads with you to see reason, while stretching out your sweater (with the roosters knitted on it). You shout "I'M NOT CRAZY!" and suppress the urge to add "AND NEITHER AM I!"

Some neighborhoods have a "cat lady." The only thing keeping me from getting more chickens is I don't want to be the chicken-guy.

I am going to state the obvious - I am addicted to this site. For way more reasons than chickens. This site has provided some welcome humor, many hugs, great advise, and good friends.
