I'm not imagining it--my beloved hen is mad at me!!!

I can't believe I'm sayin' this--but my little girl is snubbing me!

She is a little over a year old, and I raised her from the egg! I have always been able to call to her and pick her up--like you would a puppy!!

Now, she walks away and won't come to me at all!!!

I know have have been distracted, caring for a few others in the flock; I feel ridiculous even posting this!!!

But my baby girl is mad at me!!!!!!

Is she molting? I know they do go through some phases. Do don't lose hope. She'll come back around.

She's about a year & a half.

Molting is almost over for everyone; and she had no real noticeable loss of feathers!

I cornered her this morning and gave her a hug!! Told her I didn't want her to be mad at me!! Hope she forgives me for whatever!!!!!

I can totally relate and understand all this! I hand raised a serama hen from 10 hours old, I was the only mama she ever knew, well when she discovered boys [at 6-7 months] she flipped me the bird, moved into the "BIG BIRDS house and I got forgotten. WHAAAAAAAAAA! She finally started coming back to me after about a year old and she will perch on me at night and snuggle when we have free range time.....
You are for sure not the only one out there with feathers on the brain...hee hee

I remember reading a thread about a woman who offered her distraught friend a chicken to hug. And I got from her post, that the friend didn't 'get it'!!!
HUGGING YOUR CHICKENS IS GREAT THERAPY !!!

I am caring for my Mother in my home in her final days, and I'm more than a little stressed. I can imagine even the tiny brain of a chicken can sense this.

But I'm so glad to share w/ all the chicken-huggin' gals here what it feels like to be snubbed!!!
