I'm not sure who to dislike the hatchery, or the USPS..

Both the hatchery and the USPS were aware of the weather situation. What do you think they should have done instead? Not sent them? Then what?

I don't get why people don't understand this. The chicks are hatching - if they don't go in a box and get shipped, they go in a meat grinder. There's no good solution here - they have to be shipped that day. If USPS doesn't accept the box - they go in the meat grinder.

I bought from them once. I never had Coccidiosis before their chicks. Not fun treating 700 chickens for it either. It was expensive!

With 700 chickens it was only a matter of time before you first experienced coccidiosis.

Coccidia almost always already exists, there is simply a flare-up that causes most people to think it's been introduced.

Day-old chicks from a hatchery should not be pooping blood in a newly built brooder. I had no signs of coccidiosis on the newly erected farm for 2 1/2 years before Ideal's chicks. I didn't appreciate the infestation. I have never had day-old chicks from other hatcheries suffer from coccidiosis. Delivery from Ideal was the same confused mess as well. Their response to the coccidiosis was just as bad. I have never bought from them before or after; I give them an F on customer service and bio-security.
