one chick was zipped and not coming out, not coming out...on and on. finally, i noticed it was dripping yolk and stuck to the wire on the floor.
i rolled it slightly and saw it was COATED with yolk and sealed shut! i helped the little bugger out and it made it. it still has yolk on it that is hard as a rock. can i was it in warm water????
I have washed hatchlings under a stream of warm water lots of times and them placed them back in the bator to dry out after a good rub with a towel to wick most of the excess water off. I have never lost one.
