Exotic=Silkies, Frizzles, Polish, anything with a top hat. When I first got chickens and got my first of these everyone told me "those aren't chickens". My dad especially, he didnt' know what they were but they aren't chickens, lol

Some of our girls make a big production after they lay their eggs so when you narrow down your choices you could ask about the amount of "talking" the breeds do. Good luck and

Have you looked at Cochins, they look like basketballs with feathers, and throw in the feathered legs, and they are definatley exotics

or Arucana, the real ones not EE's who ever heard of a chicken with no tail and puffs on the side of thier faces.

I'm going to go with the folks who said Polish, Houdans, Sultans, and Silkies. All of those can be found in large fowl and bantam. If space is limited, I would go for the bantams. But, the large fowl are not huge either. All of them lay white or white-ish eggs.
