So I’m guessing from the number of solid yellow chicks that have hatched…the eggs that were marked “R” for rare mix were indeed the Jumbo Whites that I actually ordered. And just mislabeled.

At least one chick has yellow down with a dark patch on its back. I’m hoping that’s a tuxedo!!

At 5:15 am EST (so a bit over 4 hrs ago) there were 8 hatched and the 9th was zipped. I’ve seen at least one wet fresh hatched since then on the feed.

I’m already at work today. I’ll move the fluffy ones when I get home in about 4.5 hours from now.

Next thing to be nervous about.

I plan on putting some water in the bottom of the tray to try to keep humidity up. Then wait for a likely victim to wander near the side of the incubator and make a quick grab for it.

If you're concerned about the piped eggs shrink wrapping you can dab a bit of olive oil around the pip hole to keep it moist.

I’d be more worried about the length of time that would take to do with this many eggs over just making a quick grab for a chick.
