I'M SCARED!!! (crazy update)

Quote:
Hey friend!!! We got to Gab-Gab ALL the time!!! It was the first place I ever snorkeld! People are still friendly and it's still pretty much peaceful! My neighbors are local and they always are watching our house. Ecspecially when hubby isn't home, I really am jsut one big chicken~

i'm normally fine alone,BUT i get scared easily. i've gone out to take care of my ducks and there will be cars sitting in front of my house, tinted windows and everything. then it will drive away to the bottom of the street (dead end) come back and drive REAL slow past my house. we've got the creeper vans, the white vans with no windows and all, that have waited by the pond by my house were i go all the time. it will sit right out of view of all the houses, i only see it when i get down there. i've also had someone walk into my house when i was at home alone. i thought it was my dad, but then they walked back out and drove away. i was terrified! my dad has also succeeded in scaring me to death! i was in my room, home alone, and he was suppossed to still be at work. something started scratching at my door, so i thought it was my cat, i opened it, and there was nothing. closed the door and went back to my laptop. the scratching started again. once again, no cat. nothing. it kept happening, so i decided to find out what was happening. the only light on in the house was my bedroom light. i walked out and my parents room is right next to mine, pitch black. i was terrified someone would be in the house and i looked in. my heart was beating so fast, when suddenly there was a dark figure moving around in the room, i started backing up to get back into my room when my dad jumped out and went BOO! i was so afraid and relieved i fell to the ground.
i would be happier with a gun though lol!

Sucks you can not have a gun there, just to feel secure, even if you don't ever need it. But consider a plains bow, effective at close range and ammo capacity if as many arrows you can hold. The draw is not real heavy on them so they are well suited for a smaller person. You can usually find NA sites that sell them online. They can be inexpensive or highly decorated heirloom to hang on the wall.

When I was still in high school a student whose house got broke into wounded one burglar and killed the other with youth bow in his closet. He was cleared of any charges, though I'm not sure these days it would be the same.

I really understand. I am the same way, even with guns. I sit with a pistol on the table beside me. I feel a little bit better in this house. In our last house you could kick open the back door even when it was locked. It would just bounce open. So I never felt safe there.

In my opinion...we are fortunate in our country to have the right to bear arms. I can't imagine not.....Even though I probable couldn't get to mine in time to protect myself.

I guess it's just the fact that we have not had that right taken away...

I know....This is a subject that could be debated on both sided....

Yes, I do become more aware at night. I'm also in tuned to my animals and how they behave. That's bound to happen when you spend more time with animals then humans....Not a bad thing...

At times I actually feel my ears moving in the direction of a noise...Now that's weird...Just like a puppies, just not as pronounced

Where do you live that you can't have a gun in your home? You don't have to be specific, but is it via city ordinance or something? Here in MA we have our own ridiculously overzealous gun laws, even in our homes

Guam

I lived on Guam for three years. Get a Machete! We still have one we brought back from Guam. I take it you don't live on base? The first year we lived off base in Dededo ( sp?) Seemed pretty safe but then this was back in the 70's!!!!!

We loved it there , it was so fun being a kid there, riding my bike to the base pool or the beach . Going to the walk in movie ( like a drive in but you walk in and sit on benches outside to see the movie .. we'd bring pillows and stuff. ) When we lived in dededo our grass had this slimy algae stuff in it.... is that still around? Is it true there are a lot of snakes there now? There was none when we were there and then a non-native snake snuck in on a boat or something and now all the bird population is supposedly gone? I hope not. I miss gecko's and chameleons and monitor lizards heheehee

Anyway.. sorry hijacking.. hope you feel more comfortable soon!

Too funny, hollymh. LOL We don't have guns at all, a rule I made with dh when we married. I feel pretty safe with a dog that barks at the wind, and two police officers living on my street.

Many years ago, though, we lived in a city, and had young children. My dh called to tell me he wouldn't be home that day, as he had to deliver his load. (truck driver). I took the boys swimming in our apt complex pool, then we came back to the apt when we were done.

I laid my ds down to change him ( he was probably 2), and he kept looking over my shoulder and smiling. I turned around, and my dh was on the stairs.

Now somewhere in my mind, I realized it was my dh, but most of my mind saw someone on the stairs who didn't belong there. I screamed bloody murder, and couldn't stop. Dh flew down the stairs, and held me until I calmed down. It was awful at the time; kinda funny now, though, 16 years later.

I have seen 5 in 6 months, so I don't know if that is truly accurate! They have snake traps on every fence in this place though... No more KoKo birds, that is true! I live in Santa Rita village, by Big Navy; It' a cool place, no slimey grass, but our driveway does get slimey during raniy season. I love it here, it's still pretty much a safe place!!!
