Oh wait- do they dust as well as the Swiffer duster?

No, but they make great toilet bowl brushes.

Hi gritsar-

Could you put something like a ramp or ladder so that your little Jethro could get up their with her friends? Just an idea.....and if you have some wood shavings or hay or something for a soft landing, she should be fine.

We have nesting boxes in our chicken house that are about 5 feet high. When our chicks are little, we run a board out from one of them so they can walk up it until they learn to fly. I don't have any silkies loose where they can lay in there as all of mine are in pens but when they were loose, they flew up in the window sill and it is probably 3 foot high without any problems.

Can't rig up anything until they move into their permanent coop, but Jethro was fine this morning. There's a thick cushioning of shavings under her roost for when she falls/flys/tumbles down in the morning.
In the new coop I don't expect her to have problems since we have decided to make all the roosts low to the ground, for the sake of the cornish Xs.

I have Silkies and have never had a problem with them flying down, leaping with style from a roost:) One of my girls in particular likes to perch on this one roost which is almost 4 ft off the ground. Never built a ramp or anything else special. I guess it never occurred to me that I should.

Thanks, that makes me feel better.
Jethro was fine again this morning, after spending the second night on the high roost.
He/she is funny to watch when he's running with the big girls. He hops, flaps his wings a little, hops some more, flaps the wings.....
