AM stands for Ameraucana. And yes, I know orpingtons lay brown eggs. These are "Test" or "Project" eggs.
The lady I got them from ( a BYC'er of course ) is working on getting orps to lay Olive eggs, the eggs I recieved were a nice Olive green color and she wanted to some BYC'ers to hatch some out for her and raise them and let her know how many lay Olive green eggs.
did you try to candle your green egg? I bought 24 from a farmer, and ended up with 23 brown and 1 green. The brown are difficult to candle, the green impossible.
I could see fairly well in my green eggs..these were "Olive" green eggs, but they were pretty light so I could see pretty good inside of them. I can candle brown eggs just fine, you may need a brighter candler.
