awsome! you should post pics when she is up and about with her chicks.

I had my white leghorn hen go broody and hatch 3 out of 4 eggs. The last one was one another hen snuck into the nest two days later after the rest were set on. The mother hen abandoned it, and evan pecked at the egg after the others hatched. Did an assisted hatch, but it was too late. I hope my eggs in the incubator hatch!
wow thats pretty rare to have a leghorn go broody, was she a good with the chicks?

Yeah, mostly. Had a bit of a mishap. She attacked one, my roster was the only reason I went to help it. They were locked up in their seperate coops, and I had just heard him go crazy. Never happened before, and the coops are about 20 metres away. Must be a pretty smart rooster I guess. He's a leghorn too. Chick died that night, but I had taken in the two others as well. Gave them back to her a couple of days later, and she was absolutely fine with them. They've almost grown up.
Hatched mid-March this year, and the little cockerel hasn't even started trying to crow yet. Broody was a great mother to those two, makes me think maybe there was something wrong with that one she attacked? Who knows, I just hope she goes broody again this season! First to lay too!

How long do I wait to give them feed once they hatch, My husband says 48 hours after hatch for any water or feed... seems a bit long for them to go to me.

Nice pics

First thing I do after they hatch and dry is spread feed on the brooder floor and dip there beak in the water they can go 48 hours after they hatch but its not going to hurt anything to put food and water in now.
