We all end up with some left. My worst hatch was with local eggs. Out of 40 only 18 hatched and survved to 4 weeks. Very disappointing.
Daniel, sorry you have to use your bator as a brooder, I'd say your quail eggs won't survive the fridge too well. Can't you leave them in a cupboard and sort out a brooder tomorrow??
Well I'm setting my banty eggs on Sunday now. Goose eggs due to hatch then so they'll get whipped out and put into a hatcher bator and banty eggs straight in, it won't even get cold. Banties are going straight out again too, they are more chicks for my father, he just doesn't realise he's taking these as day olds yet!!! I really need my shed back. If I get the chicks run fenced by the time they hatch though I'll feather them out here. He's worse than me, he has 12 sussex stars (sussex x white rhode island) hens, the 13 barnevelders I have here of his at 4 weeks and now mixed bantams. And he's collecting asils tomorrow I think. Two or three of different breeds is enough for me, not by the dozen!!!
