I'm Shrimp...we want chickens!!!

Hi all!

Greetings from soon to be sunny and warm Vermont...the Northeast Kingdom to be exact. We're considering some chickens to add to our menagerie (mostly cats) and welcome any comments or suggestions. My initial thought was to convert part of our 16'x20' shed for use as a chicken "coop". It's pretty tight in terms of predator access, but it's unheated and gets mighty chilly during our long cold Winters. I'll be scanning the forum to pick up some pointers, but feel free to chime in here if you have any immediate suggestions!

, and what breeds are you planning on getting? If you have kids, I would suggest a Buff Orpington for their sweet, calm, loving, and patient temper.
