I suppose one would have to test their soil to see if the ph needs lowered. I have a test kit but have never used it

I know that blueberries like about a 4.5 Ph although mine have done well at a 5.4 Ph. You could also get a Ph meter with probes to stick in the soil.

Blueberries like 4.5-5.5 pH range. I was sure my blueberry patch was plenty acidic, since I mulched it with oak leaves every year. I tested the soil... 7.0. That spring, the next fall, and the next spring, I added soil acidifier. And bammo! I started getting more blueberries!
