I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember being told that my arm "would blow off" if I stuck it out the window of the car as we drove down the highway.
My father didn’t like us hanging our arms out the window for safety reasons. I guess one of his coworkers lost an arm in an accident- he had his arm out the window.

My arm never blew off. The 60+ mph wind felt really neat though!
Especially when you lay your hand flat like an aeroplane wing and catch the wind riding the current up and down as you change the angle of your slightly cupped hand. Then when you get bored, or every once in a while just for fun, tip down the leeward pinky side and let that wind take your arm flying up and back. Whoosh. 🫲🚘🛩️😃

Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman. Be he 'live, or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread.

Eenie meenie mo, catch a _____ by his toe.

See you later alligator. Not now crocodile.

Eenie meenie minee mo catch a ___by a toe (name of child in the circle playing this hand game to see who gets out till only one child is left and also

I'm so old that I remember when people held doors open for one another, said please and thank you, said good morning to strangers, helped their significant others with their coats, pulled out chairs to seat their wives.

Once after pulling the chair for the Princess at Cracker Barrel, a man somewhat belligerently said, " What are you doing? Trying to make the rest of us look bad?" I replied, "I find that many don't need any help with that." Dining room erupted in laughter, and he slunk back to his table.

I still try to hold doors open when going in or out if someone is around me & now that I am older people hold the door open for me a lot

And to my surprise a few times someone is exactly insulted by my holding a door open for them to walk through

I still try to say please thankyou good day how are you with a smile on my face

A couple of weeks ago April 11 I was crossing a street at a crosswalk and a boy about 13-14 years old jumped out of a car and helped me cross the street
❤️

Have not heard that one. But my grandmother was fond of telling me ‘you face will end up staying like that you frown so much’.

….must go look on the mirror!

I remember the adults telling the kids don’t make faces or it will stay that way

Loafers that flap? Were they broken or just well broken in?

I could not find a picture of the saddle oxfords with the flap but I did find one of the tassel loafers with a flap just imagine the flap as black on the oxfords
