I'm so old I Remember when:

I had a rearing stallion and a running (?) mare; they were solid, not hollow in the middle. Beautiful things, I really loved them. Have never seen any like them since. They were burgundy red.
Were they Breyer brand horses? They made the most realistic looking ones. :love :p

I always wanted one of those horse corral kits but never got one. Made due with fences from other odds and ends. It’s plain as day in my memory and it’s frustrating not to be able to produce a picture and post it here!
I made corral fences from sticks.

They were small, perhaps 2.5 to 3" from front to back as I recall, and I don't think Breyer was making small ones at the time. This would have been, oh ... 1958 to 1963, as I think I was 5 to 10 years old when I had them. I don't know where they came from. In my memory they were just THERE, and then, they were not, although I do know what happened to the stallion. 😔 A neighbor girl took it and threw it on top of her roof in a fit of jealousy. I couldn't get anyone to retrieve it for me because it was "just a toy." I never could afford Breyer horses, not until I was nearly grown and had a job.

I remember spending hours sitting with my grandmother making these braided rag rugs.

I remember pouring over the Sears catalog before Xmas...the Breyer horses were my favorite pages to hopefully drool over. "Look mom, look dad... aren't they beautiful?" But never ask directly because that's bad manners 😂❤️

Lol, I remember when asking directly was considered bad manners! :lau When my g-kids came to live with us, they actually handed us lists of what they wanted. I guess CPS taught them to do that. That was a long time ago. Now they ask Gpa and me what WE'd like! ❤️
