My grandmother gave my wife and I a set of cookware and serving dishes that her mom had got with S and H Green stamps. It was given to my grandparents when they were married and given to us when we were married. That have never been used.

I remember when there were no microwaves, and t.v. dinners were a new thing. They were in aluminum trays and took forever to cook in the oven. But it was such a novel thing to eat dinner off those flimsy folding t.v. trays in your living room.

For us it was a willow switch. Not me of course, but my siblings.

Is that what they were called? I remember when you had to book a long distance call for a certain time through the operator. Or was that different. Weren't they called trunk calls or something?

Collect calls: person you were calling paid the long distance charges
Person-to-person: if they weren't available you didn't have to pay for the call
Dialing "0" for an operator
Dialing a number to hear the time
Paying less for long distance calls after 8pm, a lot less after 11pm
