I'm so old I Remember when:

Collect calls: person you were calling paid the long distance charges
Person-to-person: if they weren't available you didn't have to pay for the call
Dialing "0" for an operator
Dialing a number to hear the time
Paying less for long distance calls after 8pm, a lot less after 11pm
Time and temperature. I called that number so many times when I was a kid I still have it memorized. :gig

1800-C-A-L-L-ATT it’s free for you and cheap for them.

• Phone booths - and calls were a dime.
• Photo mat booths - and it took weeks to get your photos back.
• Black and white TV with 8 channels and rabbit ear antennas.
• Movie theaters that always played double-features.
• Winter boots that were "slickers" - you put your foot in, shoes and all. Mom slipped an old bread bag over your shoe so you could get your foot in.
• The Pledge of Allegence, every morning, in school
• Manual typewriters, taking note hand, being graded on cursive penmanship

Who knows what this is?

There were no blow dryers then, so we made our own by removing the bonnet.
