That sounds just like our general store when we lived in rural Kennesaw, Georgia! (Late 60s) They had a "Colonial Bread" plaque on the screen door. And a Coke machine with those classic green glass bottles that rattled down when you bought one... You put the empties in a metal rack next to the machine. Kids collected discarded empties and brought them in to get the return-deposit money from the store.I remember buying pickles from a barrel. And penny candy that was a penny a piece. From a general store that had a wooden floor, a screen door, and a porch.
