I remember long lines to get gas, and only being able to buy it on odd or even days, depending on license plate. We were 121WLM, so we could only buy gas on odd numbered days.

And I even remember the license plate!!!

I remember those days as I was a service station attendant during that time. A lot of irate people during that time.

Talking about checks... do you remember when you just WROTE out that you owed someone x amount of money, on ANY RAMDOM bit of paper, and it worked like a check? No fancy check paper needed!
