Vicks Formula 44 I bet? That was nasty but we had it when I was a kid.

We used "Ryenol". Nose drops, they stopped making them when I was a kid, but they sure worked well on a stuffy nose.
Cough medicine was a teaspoon of honey with lemon and Jack Daniels Black label on top.
Black Jack was rubbed on gums of teething babies and you could ride the bus for 7 cents and the payphone here was 5 cents for local calls and unlimited time.

No, I did not like them. Or the gum. Or that Teaberry gum. Or Necco wafers.

Breakfast during high school was Black coffee, a cherry cigar and sometimes a donut.

I remember when Nyquil, the night time sniffling sneezing aching coughing stuffy head fever so you can rest medicine, was almost 25% alcohol and tasted horrific. But it sure worked.
