I'm so old I Remember when:

No seatbelts or car seats for little ones on school busses either. If someone was standing in the aisle or actin a fool the driver would just hammer the brakes to teach them a lesson and we'd all get knocked around like pinballs as collateral damage.
I remember a few 'bad boys' being escorted off the bus by the driver. That was usually enough to make the rest of us pull our socks up! lol

I did exactly that to my own wayward boy on the school home run when he continually kept releasing the baby's carseat buckle. He wasn't far from home and it had no impact on him at any rate. :he

I can remember wanting to go to school for the first day. After that I never wanted to go to school again. The second day I refused to get on the school bus. The bus driver got out of his seat and pulled me by my arm while my mother pushed me from behind. After that I got on the bus without any fuss even though I hated school.

Our bus driver was a mean old thing. He had no problem with booting you off the bus, he didn't care how far from home you were. He was also the county sheriff.

I hated it from day one as well! The teacher had to carry me screaming back across the playground after i bolted to catch up with my nan. I then pulled the pin from my name tag and stuck in in her : /

I was expelled in year 10 of high school after refusing to play sport on the grounds that only dogs chase balls. School seems to be only about making team players / work forces. No practical chicken-keeping or other farming practices at all. What is the deal! lol

That reminds me of my oldest daughter. She was so excited to start school. But when she came home after her first day, she informed me that she wasn't going back. She angrily said that they were supposed to teach her to read, but all they did was color. And if that's all school was good for, she'd just as soon stay home. :lau
