I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember when Sears was still in decent business and they would have a photography center where you could get your photo professionally taken
When our girls were little, we took them to the JC Penney photo studio at a local mall many times so we (and both sets of grandparents) would have a nice record of them growing up. They had great backdrops and props to choose from and were so good at posing & engaging with the little kids to get real smiles, and good package deals for the photos. Now that both are adults (elder with her own 2 kids), I'm so glad to have all those professional photos of them, along with the family snapshots with my series of little cameras over the years.

I wonder if photography studios are still a thing with the remaining stores? (None exist where we live now.) The only grandkid pics we have are digital, texted from my daughter's phone camera.

My son has used those in math. The kids know what a protractor is

I also remember my grandmother teaching me how to operate the "onearmed bandits", slot machines while sitting on her lap in the bar at the Moose Club. :p (quite illegal several ways.) :lau
The slots are all electronic today, no more handles to pull. Another memory gone.

Yes, very unsatisfactory IMO. I've only played the one-armed bandits a time or two, but when they went electronic all the fun was gone. Not interactive at all. Just as well, I suppose.
