Now I will be hearing that sound in my head until I get out and let the roosters replace it.Way back in the dark ages I had Prodigy internet. I received a paper bill each month and sent them a check.
When I wanted to cancel it they kept giving me 6 months free. This went on about 2 years.
Free was about what it was worth but nothing much better was available for us rural folks.
Oh my that screeching sound when you logged on line!

I hand stitch. Mom taught me that (along with knitting, crocheting, sewing, canning, etc) and when my daughter's kindergarten teacher was with child (some 30-odd years ago) it was a great opportunity to pass the skill along to the next generation. At our church's Community Center, two of our ladies still make quilts to give away. Fabric is donated mostly. The quilts are simple patchwork squares tied in the middle with yarn. I started to say they are hand-stitched, but the give-aways are not. Until recently one of the ladies did hand-stitch quilts to sell. She gave us one for our wedding, it is hanging on our wall. She is beginning to suffer from dementia and no longer quilts, she is 89 years old. It's a sadness as this lovely art passes into history. ETA I'll post a pic later.
My mom still quilts by hand. She makes a quilt for every niece and nephew who get married. Passed down by my grandma, who made a quilt for every grandchild. And she had a lot! My mom has since made quilts for all her grandchildren. Sewing is something I never got into but I should try againAt our church's Community Center, two of our ladies still make quilts to give away. For me it was Tetris all the way. Helps my brain focus when there's too much going on.The first video game I ever saw was Pong. Similar to ping pong balls. No color and you could set it just right and it played all by itself.
When my daughter came along I graduated to Mario. She is an only child so I played with her. That's as far as my gaming went. Daughter is 40 now.
When I was a young teen we played
pinball. Haven't seen a pinball game in years.
I still use a weather rock.I remember when there was no internet to check the radar for rain. You never knew for sure until it happened.
