That used to scare the bejeebers outta my chickens

There is an air show at the Base every other year, and when the Hornets fly overhead it freaks out the horses. I don’t ride those days just in case!

One year they flew over and banked over the paddocks really low, gosh the noise and the rumble of the engines, they saw me out there with my cousin’s wee girls the first time they flew over. They proceeded to fly and bank over the paddock twice after that so low we could see the rivets on the plan and the pilot in the planes looking down at us! How eggcited we were.

The girls were only 3 and 5 so they were equally terrified by the noise and excited that the pilots saw them

The next day we all went to the air show and when those hornets flew over just below super sonic speed the girls were waving like mad hahaha. I put my hands over their ears best as I could. Now they are teens and not interested in such things.

How time flies.

I love military planes! We have a C-17 that flies over our house frequently enough. Sometimes Chinooks and Black Hawks come sputtering over. I miss living by the airport and I miss the Blue Angel/Thunderbird shows!

Also, once the Presidential helicopter flew right by the house! That was neat!

I once asked my friend to ask her husband if he could tell the helicopter training crews to not fly over my house at 2am….

When my daughter was born doctors told us to sterilize all parts of the bottles and the formula. I had a bottle sterilizer very much like the photo.

By the time my grandson was born we were told just wash them in hot soapy water. Times change!

We have an air base not far away. When the jets fly over they are so low I almost think I can see the pilot inside. They look like they barely miss the tree tops and are so loud. If I am outside I cover my ears. They always seem to fly in 3's.
