I tuck my pants legs into my socks now because of fire ants. I look just as uncool now as I did then. Fire ants hurt much worse than a bicycle chain though.

Whoa Nelly - fire ants heard of them being aggressive and painful! Who cares how uncool you look as long as you’re safe and unharmed

Of course in the summer we wore flip flops and and they were horrible peddling on a bike! Many skinned knees and elbows with flip flops getting in the works!

Very painful! The bites can turn into sores that can last for up to a month as I discovered one year in college in Florida years ago. Ouch!!!

Oh yea the dreaded pants and bike chain issue - solved with a clothes peg

I pulled the pant leg around tight and tied a shoe string around it.

I was supposed to use these, but they were not considered cool and I kept losing them

Shoe string probably wasn't so cool either but it was hard to uncool Moony so...

Flip flops are bad news.
I know a lady that slipped down wooden steps, because of flip flops, broke her tibia bone. Those things have no traction.
