My sister gets Schwan's delivered every few months. They are still around here

Oh I know. I have a friend that drove for them for for like forever.
Now he works for the county driving a snow plow truck amongst other things.
When the plow trucks take out a mailbox the county replaces them. At the end of the season the driver that takes out the most gets a of shame. It's got a little mailbox on the top I hear tell.
My friend is in the running to win or is it to lose

Yeah, I saw it happen, she went down that staircase like she was on skiis, then thud, snap, crackle, pop at the landing. Her hubby had to carry her the rest of the way down, then he drove her to the hospital. Who would think flip flops were that slippery on the bottom, but most are.

Oh my gosh that’s traumatic for both of you! Wow

We used to have ‘em in Michigan.
And in Louisiana there weren’t ice cream trucks (that I remember) but there were snow cone stands all over.
I have seen a few since moving to the East Coast but I live in the country so none right here.

I was supposed to use these, but they were not considered cool and I kept losing them

I didn't mind using them at all. When you grow up poor you're more concerned about not ruining the clothes your parents worked so hard to buy than looking "cool".
Also, getting my pantleg caught in the gears usually meant a lot of time lost getting unstuck while under the bicycle that'd inevitably fallen on top of me followed by remounting the chain.
Yep. Didn't mind using those springs at all. They were a blessing.
