I'm so old I Remember when:

Insurance is required by state law.

I wasn't allowed to get a car until I paid for my own insurance.

I would rather drive a tractor any day even though that was work.
So is it each person driving the car? If I drove my parents I'd need to be on it, right?

It's very not necessary to have a college degree.
I tell people all the time that if they aren't going for a career that requires a college degree, don't waste your parent's money on college.

If you have your own driver insurance, you do not need to be on your parent's insurance. If you don't have your own insurance, you would need to be on their policy.

There was a time they would send mechanics out to the field to work on them.
They might still do that, but some farmers don't have the time for that. Which is the problem. If you need the tractor that day, and the next mechanic comes on the next two days, then being locked out because you took matters into your own hands is very unfair and wrong.

My farmer uncles never call a mechanic. They do all the work themselves, have since forever
