I'm so old I Remember when:

And they're still running, I assume. That says something right there!
I feel like I should replace the refrigerator but the advertised cost to use on the new ones is higher than what mine runs at and the projected life span for new ones sucks. Mine is over 40 years old.

We bought our refrigerator used 30 years ago when we moved in. I'm going to estimate it's 40 y/o too. It owes us nothing, and I'll surely miss it when we have to get a new one.

The cost was $500 for the fridge, washer, and dryer, (all used) delivered and installed. We have replaced the washer.

My refrigerator came with the house when I bought it 20 years ago. No idea how old it is, but not replacing it one moment before I have to! I replaced my stove and now have to wait 1/2 hour for it to preheat. I replaced my wash machine and have not had 1 load since that I didn't have to rewash something or do a second rinse, at twice the time of the old machine. These are all Maytag products too, supposed to be good. Low water/low energy regulations are making all the new products inferior in my opinion.

I remember in high school during hunting season guys came to school in full camo and rifles hanging in the rear window of their trucks. Parked in the student parking lot too. They went hunting when school let out.

Doubt that would happen today.
