I use it on the internet sometimes, no problems. But I keep nothing personal on that computer. So if somebody hacked it, they'd get years old writing and my browser history, which amounts to 3 websites.

We have a custom built tower running XP.. Built it for a/v editing. It has seen the internet in awhile but still being used. Best system we've ever run. The newer operating systems are ________. I believe intentionally. All fluff and glitter. I prefer a basic OS, compared to sparkle and glitter. To each their own.

What are the specs on it?

I agree with Windows being really bad now. It started syncing to OneDrive and then proceeded to whine about being out of my free 5GB of storage.

Linux is great if you want something reliable. I use Kubuntu, but Linux Mint is used on practically every other computer my family uses.

Looked it up and latest will only run on Windows 10 or newer, supposedly.

I have used Supermium on Windows XP and it works fine provided you've got enough power for it. I don't recommend using XP online at all.

We don't take it on line for security purposes anymore since AVG is the only available protection we know of. The bear min.
The last browser we ran on it was Firefox but it has been a couple yrs since we went online with it. Using a android OS via notebook for browsing now.

Off hand I can't tell you. Hub built it. It was obnoxious in the day. He built something for editing that would not need to be updated anytime soon. It has 5 SATA drives and a massive power converter. It is antiquated by today's standards but still enough for our application. There is a program on it that displays every component installed. I'll have to take a gander to give you specs.

How old is it? If it's got a i7 you should be able to put modern Linux or Windows 10 on it. Still use a i7 930 here.

Most XP installs will be 32 bit as 64 bit XP wasn't common at all.
