Oh yeah, the electric train. Had one, around the Christmas tree. But, we had electric trains with a remote control, and legos, and even RC cars.
As someone stated earlier. When the street lights came on it was time. And I could go anywhere, and as long as I was close enough to hear the dinner bell it didn't matter.
Loved those. Scary though!Anyone ever risk injury playing with clacker balls?
Steal the flag, and our basement didn't have any windows so we played hide and seek in the dark. And lots of time reading.I don't remember having a lot of indoor toys like Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and the like, but our cousins did. We were fascinated by them. Probably because our aunt had like, 10 kids and a huge house, and there were 4 of us kids in a 2 BR trailer - and no, we didn't call it a mobile home, lol. We had books and modeling clay, and paper bags and wooden spools and shoelaces. We'd draw faces on the paper bags, cut holes for eyes and chase each other around the house. We'd string necklaces out of the spools and shoelaces. We had chess, a Monopoly game and Scrabble. These were indoor winter toys. Otherwise we were outside, on bikes, playing games, hide and seek, volleyball, etc.
No, I buttoned a sweater around my neck and galloped around the house, neighing, tossing my head and pawing the air. I WAS the flying horse!Did you gallop around on a hobbyhorse made from a broomstick and an old sock?
Nope, but Mom tore apart an old mattress and we put the springs on the bottoms of our shoes.Did you gallop around on a hobbyhorse made from a broomstick and an old sock?
