I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember pickup sticks and tinker toys. Well, I didn't remember them until you mentioned them, Thank You. How about the metal erector sets?
Yes I remember erector sets. The toys of future engineers and architects.

Bringing back some solid memories. We had no idea, at least I didn't, at the time how great things were back when we were kids.

I'm so old, I remember using my imagination and creativity to make my own toys.

A willow branch made me a stagecoach driver, or maybe a cowboy rounding up a herd of cattle.

A crochet hook and some solder for bits made decorative halters and bridles for my model horses. (My mother gave me some crocheted squares for saddle blankets. I was a tomboy, and couldn't bo bothered with learning more than a chain stitch!)

You mean you actually used your God given gift of imagination? You and your friends probably did 'group' imaginations also I bet.

@jxp, those are all beautiful, but the last four are especially spectacular! Thank you for sharing.
When looking at, being in, or thinking about gardens or landscapes or seed catalogues or garden videos (especially British ones) I can get lost for hours.
