The A&P parking lot was one of the main places for cruising. Small town!

You'd be surprised at what some Americans don't get, like the guy who tried to pay for the bus in Australia with US dollars, then got indignant when told that was not accepted.

To be fair there are a lot of places outside the U.S. where you can use U.S. currency. That's the kind of research he should have done before he traveled, though. It shouldn't be a surprise when you get there and isn't something you should get upset about either way.

It’s never 27°C in Ohio in the winter. I automatically assume Americans understand that the rest of the world uses Celsius, so I expect the same from Europeans when it comes to F. We don’t use the metric system but we get it. Don’t hate us for it.

Of course I dont hate you. I was kidding.
But in general its not always obvious what is meant with a number if there is no explanation. I find the non metric calculations and unities, like F, “, and sqft still difficult to grasp without a conversion tool.

Glad the English stopped using their old money system. But I do remember we could use shillings to pay with after they started to use the metric system.
