I get a little disgusted or at least dismayed at the number of people here in America who can't seem to speak or WRITE their own native language. Since the advent of cell phones especially, it seems our young people have no idea they are supposed to end a sentence with a PERIOD. Trying to make sense of paragraph-long text with no break is enough to make me want to tear out my hair. Forget about commas, semicolons, etc. You, BDutch, do FINE.

Some tips, just in case you haven't already figured them out.

I'm = I am
An apostrophe (') in the middle of a word usually indicates a letter left out, often a vowel.

"prob'bly" = probably (sometimes shortened to "probly.") Both slang.

"jest" and "n" are a Southern dialect for "just" and "and," also used sometimes as slang.

"c'aint" = can't = can not (cannot) "aint" is slang for are not.

Movin' = moving. An apostrophe after "in" at the end of a word is a slang shortening of the "ing" suffix.

He's a "her"... Breyer's "Old Timer." My sister and I collected (and still have) them. "The Old Gray Mare" has always been one of my favorites, with or without her hat!

All these years I thought she was a gelding! Come to think of it, I'm not sure I ever checked. I had a looooong shelf full of Breyer horses. I wonder how many of them I got wrong?

Never knew that, Thank You. I never tried making butter or yogurt, sounds pretty hard core to me. I’ve always been a ‘ from scratch’ person myself and started a bit of an experiment to see how far removed I can make myself from the grocery store. With retirement I’ve stepped up the garden and preserving, and we now have the chickens for eggs, bake our own bread( haven’t bought bread in quite sometime) preserve our peas, beets,potatoes, sauerkraut, beans, apple sauce, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, garlic, peppers, etc. I get a kick out of seeing what were not paying at the grocery store. However, I still think our price per egg, at this point, is more than the bloated prices for a dozen of store bought. Umm, sounds like we may be heading toward being homesteaders.
