I'm so old I Remember when:

X2. It's sad seeing so many things become vulgar because of bad language. I had a friend who used a bad word once, and I told him I would leave if he didn't stop. He never did it again as a exclamation in front of me, and I'm glad he took the advice.

This is one of the reasons about the only thing I watch on TV any more is cooking shows. Everything else is murders, adultery, witchcraft/ occult, life after death, ghosts ... there is precious little that is wholesome. While I was washing eggs today I put on one of those animated features that has the Minions in it, those are cute, but then I realized the story line glamorizes the main character, a world-class thief. It makes him very sympathetic. I think if I had small children I would not let them watch this, no matter how cute it is.

It makes me sad in this world we glamorize evil.

Once 9-year-old me found out I could watch anything on youtube, I ended up watching a lot of kids who went unhinged. It led to me being a jerk to everyone who crossed my path. I now advise anyone who has children to NOT let them on the youtube, except for actually good content.

Most of Tom Scott's "Things You Might Not Know" series is pretty family friendly and I highly recommend them.

When I was nine, Youtube was thirty years in the future.
