I'm so old I Remember when:

There was a family I baby sat for in high school. The dad always picked me up, and always had the nicest cologne. I never asked what it was.

I smelled the same cologne on someone when I was in the store (standing in line? somewhere, I don't recall where). I wanted to ask him, "What's that cologne you're wearing?" but I didn't.

I have a cologne called John varvatos vintage. Every lady that said something said they could smell it all day everyday. Everyone likes it. I don't really wear cologne anymore. It's also like the more the day goes by the better it smells.

My Bad it's not the vintage just john varvatos. Just checked

I remember when gas was less than 17¢ a gallon...

And you:

I remember when gas was less than a dollar but not the exact amount

My first car was a 79 Monte Carlo that I got in 1980 and gas was around a dollar a gallon

less or more depending on where you were at , at the self service tanks

And the gas was a good bit more at the full service tanks

Amoco ( my parents had an account with the one station that I used in mobile, Al
and the owner was a mechanic also )
Gulf and Standard when outside of mobile
