I'm so old I Remember when:

I am so old I remember when we wore those dangerous platform shoes!
Back in high school, I fell off 8" platforms as I was going down stairs. They took me out in an ambulance. Besides being mortally embarrassed, I survived intact. My favorite shoes, however did not. I wish I'd saved them, if only for proof that, once upon a time, I was briefly rather cool!

8" platforms! Those weren't shoes, they were stilts! :lau

I am so old I remember I did not complaint much at all, I did what I needed to do, there were so much to do and so much exciting things to do and to achieve.

Now, I complaint more than I do things...😄
Lol that seems to be the deal as I get older! lol

Today the sweet potatoes went in, 21 slips, thus ends the planting. Now begins the battle with bugs, disease,, predators, and anything else that views my vegetable garden an ‘All You Can Eat Buffet’ made just for them.

I remember having to put elbow grease into spinning a stick on a wheel to access fresh air out the window. Every time Mom would stop the car on errands I had to workout again. Until one day it broke off in my hand.
Dad had gotten her this old station wagon that stalled at intersections and the steering wheel would lock up at the drop of a hat. She was so angry that he was driving a nicer car to work while she was stuck doing a bunch of his errands in that wagon (construction company so there was always permit pulling, jobsite checks, material runs, etc as well as the family stuff). He sat in the office all day on the computer, so why did he need the decent vehicle to drive just there and back again?
When Mom threatened to quit the unpaid work stuff if he didn't switch cars, he went out and bought her a new kia when that brand was new, "for her birthday", which seemed like a nice thing to do at the time but in retrospect was the ramen noodle version of a car. It only lasted 5 years before clunking out, but it didn't stall and the windows had buttons. Of course, she was then expected to perform every business errand without delay or complaint.

My father was an exec for GM, back in the 60's-70's. Part of his job was pulling random cars off the line and driving them for anywhere from a day to six months. We had some BEAUTIFUL cars!
Does anyone remember the 69 GTO labeled "The Judge?" Vin # 01 was the California prototype -fancy emissions & such. Vin 02 was the East Coast (and full production) prototype. V# 02 slept in our driveway. He had the option to purchase it at a discount, but Mom nixed it She said the only way it could stay was if it came with pre-printed speeding tickets in the glove box!

I remember it looked like a Chevy Chevelle
