I remember when we were kids, we listened to our tunes on vinyl records. And not because it was cool or retro, but because that's how music came back then Then we went through cassette tapes, floppy discs, CDs, mp3 players, and now people don't even own music anymore, they just stream it from places...

I remember EVERY dry cleaners shop had a gumball machine! Nice cash sideline as mothers gave us coins to keep us busy while waiting to turn in/pick up Dad's suits at the cleaners.

I remember about 55-60 years ago …

going to the laundromat with lots of big huge dryers

And I wanted to play and spin around in one with the clothes

I remember having to put elbow grease into spinning a stick on a wheel to access fresh air out the window. Every time Mom would stop the car on errands I had to workout again. Until one day it broke off in my hand.

Our van still has one of those.

I insist on buying my music. Thrift stores most of the times in the form of a CD but I will settle for FLAC files (as I store it digitally on my computer and listen to it that way anyways).

I had a magnificent pair of red, white and blue hip-hugging bell bottom pants. They had red and white stripes with blue stars in the stripes. I thought they were great. I probably looked like a reject from a circus, lol.

8" platforms! Those weren't shoes, they were stilts!

Those shoes weren't even my biggest, just my favorites, which likely accounts for my lousy knees, today! Definitely! I wasn't 5' tall at the time, so that was the whole point! I actually wore heels like that all the time. That day, I made the mistake of trying to negotiate the band room stairs carrying my instrument, an oversize concert folder and all of my books (we weren't allowed backpacks back in "the old days.)
I shoulda made two trips. That would have avoided the one really BIG one ... down the stairs!
