Thanks for the heart warming memories. Mom would put popcorn balls in them for the trick-or-treaters.
Sadly nowadays if anyone bought a large packet of candy and shared them this way, many parents would throw it out, not trusting it isn't tainted.

I bought a rock tumbler last year for the granddaughter's birthday. They're still around ... and they're still quite noisy.
