I'm so old I Remember when:

I wanted one so bad it hurt. My Dad couldn't afford to buy it for me. My Grandfather made a large rocking horse for me instead. He used my Grandmother's old fur coat to cover it, belts for reins and big buttons for eyes. I named it Buttermilk after Dale Evans horse.
I bet it was beautiful!

When you filled up at an Esso gas station the attendant would attach a Tiger tail to the fuel filler pipe. The Tiger tail would hang out of the fuel flap door. Esso motto was, "Put a Tiger in your tank".
I'm so old, I remember when Esso was Standard Oil. My grandfather was a ship captain transporting for them.

I remember when I got my first smart phone....

Most other things like having a black and white TV I don't remember as well....
I remember walking down to County Raido on Broadway with my father to watch TV in the evening. We didn't own a TV, County Raido had a B/W TV playing in the store front window and the speaker was outside the store. There was always a small crowd there watching TV.

How the world has changed, in just a few short years! In my grandmother's day, people traveled as they had for millenia before, no faster than the speed of a running horse. If you didn't abuse your animal or change horses, you could expect to travel about 20 miles in a day. Now you can cover 3x that in an hour, for around a dollar.

Broadway…well, Times Square…was the most disappointing place I have ever been.

I didn’t know the whole place was full of billboards and crazy people! The last time I’d seen it was 1950 or so (in a picture) and I always just thought it would be the same. Man, was I wrong!!!

A little research goes a long way.
