I'm so old I Remember when:

Our kids always road in the bed of our pickup. The pickup had an insulated cap an an old mattress for them to sit on, we didn't own a car.
Years later our oldest daughter was trying to bring her husband to a camping area that she had gone with us. She had to keep pulling her car over so she could get out and look backwards. That was the only way she could remember the road.

Don’t miss that cable , we had one 10 m long, hubby loves walking around while talking, the cable always got snarled up, and so bad, sometimes the phone stopped working 🙄

When I was in college, the first time I met one of my friend's husbands (he was her boyfriend at the time) he was standing in the hallway of her parents' house, around the corner from the kitchen where the phone hung on the wall, and he was patiently untangling that looooong cord. 😄 I asked her if someone had asked him to do that and she said no, he just took it upon himself to do so. They're still married and he's still a very patient and pragmatic guy!
