I'm so old I Remember when:

I helped my brother deliver papers when we were teens in Denver. There was nothing to fear that I knew of, except that some of the other carriers could be a bit silly. My brother eventually stopped letting me help him, but it was years later before I understood why. I wasn't very smart.
My Hubby was 9 y/o going into bars shoe shining so he could make money for his family. Walking by himself in the dark, in and out of the different bars.

Knitted & fringed ponchos!

We still use it! Sometimes I threaten to have the middle schoolers use it again. There would be a MUCH better chance of actually being able to read what they wrote!
So you're safe. Remembering this doesn't give away your age at all ... unless you remember when teachers first started using it!
;)

Miniskirts that covered only what shorts did were the height of fashion. I wore them too - my legs were great. The legs are still passable, but not miniskirt worthy.
Sizzlers! Micro-minis with matching hot-pants or bikini bottoms!

Often worn with a "paperboy cap" - but not in these garish neons. We wore earthy tones, bold stripes or Peter Max florals. And we wore massive platform shoes .. wedges and towers. Mine actually sent me to the hospital!
