The next mall was so far away, I „hung out“ at the hardware storeMalls were where kids used to hang out. "Mom, I'm going to the mall!" Okay ... what did they do there? No idea. But it gave them a place to go, kept them off the street, they hung out in groups (think safety, not single targets), and nothing bad ever seemed to happen to them. Wish there were malls or the equivalent for today's youth.
-was a hideous fashion thing 'round here. I do recall the most memorable prom, though. All the usual limos pulled up, followed by a hearse. My buddies (group of guys) jumped out of the back of the hearse sporting sunglasses, tuxedo coats with tails, Jams shorts, and assorted colors of Converse high tops shoes. It was the most hilarious spectacle!
