Same with a lard sandwhich. I do prefer bacon however.

Band of Brothers was like that, too, as I recall. I only made it through about the first two minutes. My DH at the time said it was the most realistic portrayal of Viernam he ever saw.

I haven't seen Private Ryan or Band of Brothers and despite being amazing movies many claim them to be, it's not likely I ever will. I had enough of 'Nam's realism growing up. Between the nightly news footage and worrying over cousins and my favorite babysitter being
"in country," I didn't (and still don't) need to resurrect that trauma.
And I know I watched Apocalypse Now, and I'm glad I did, that showed me enough to convince me that we don't ever, ever want to go through that again. God Bless Our Troops!
