yeah, malls were truly ... magical.
I worked at a mall. One of the 80s Christmas decorations was a bunch of large red boxes with green ribbons, and lights dangling out of them. I thought the boxes looked like they were vomiting lights.

Well that's better than what I saw today.

I went somewhere and they had a nativity, but behind it they had it all covered in light. LED light. BLUE LED lights. My eyes said no. Trying to look at them caused my eyes to attempt to focus and behave like a camera that has no idea what it should be focusing on.

We had to stop putting tinsel on our Christmas trees because one of our cats liked to eat it. When she pooped, the poop would hang out of her behind stuck to a strand of tinsel and my mom would have to pull it out. :sick
I just had a mental picture of that! :sick

In Denver we had Cinderella City, with a ginormous, probably 60-foot tall Cinderella holding a glass shoe aloft in her upstretched hand, spinning slowly in the central court ... yeah, malls were truly ... magical.
In Syracuse, NY the mall had a full sized vintage carousel. The wooden carousel animals were gorgeous.
