I'm so old I Remember when:

We had just started using new computers at work (nights).
Everyone was worried about what would happen if they crashed.
I pointed out that they crashed every couple days anyway so I wasn't sure what the problem was.:p
And now any computer that isn't Y2K38 compliant is going to have issues at some point, so there's that. Won't be as big of a deal since a good chunk of that stuff isn't going to be used that much anymore.

Her phone number is *redacted*. I have that memorized.
Oddly enough, I remember my parents' phone number form the home I grew up in - because you had to actually dial each and every number to connect - but could not tell you anyone's cell number - not relatives, not friends, not work. Just a name on a screen that fits in the palm of my hand.

I made it a point to dial in the phone number of a cousin that I call almost every week. Doing that made certain I memorized it.

My mother and us kids would bang on pans and yell Happy New Year..along with other neighbors..on New Year's Eve. I still do it. :)
We moved in this house a year ago last December. Got out our pots and pans and started making noise when low and behold, we heard someone else banging their pans and shouting Happy New Year. First I've heard in years.

I have never heard of this!

We always stay up though and watch other people’s fireworks and eat Christmas cookies if there’s any. We used to go to church for a service but our current one doesn’t do that.

I remember the phone number of my best friend from age 7. Also my grandmother's phone number when it was 3 letters to indicate the town plus 4 numbers.
These are all useful numbers to remember to use as PIN numbers and passwords!
Can't remember my own mobile phone number to save my life (fortunately it seems to know it!).

I love that tradition - never heard of it before but think it is great!
