Im so UPSET, I lost a chicken today :(

thanks guys. well she left the yard and i had to go in for a minute to check the kids and she went over the wall again into the neighbors driveway and i turned my head for a minute and she was gone!!

i think she went across the street into the bushes over there and maybe tonight i will go and try to find her?

or maybe she will come back and hopefully we will get her one of these nights

its just that i work 5 nights a week and DH will be home with the chickens... err.... kids i mean and he will have to catch her again - he got her in the first place!

Id say the second you see her again throw out a few special treats towards her. Get her used to you feeding her so she may be inclined to stay.
Also, Im doing better over my loss. Just kind of up in the air as to what to do with this dog of mine who has still not been allowed in the house. Im so mad at him yet I know he was just being a dog, doing a stupid dog thing. But this chicken raising has become an important part of me and my familys life now and I cant afford to have the dog continue to do this. How to feel and what to do.... ::Sigh::

and sad at the same time!

Wish I could give you some advise on what to do about the dog, but my big ole shepherd mix is wary of our chickens. She avoids them.

i wouldnt know what to do with the dog either....i like dogs but not enough to have one right now with the kids, chickens, hubby, work, house, laundry .... etc.... your brave!!
