Im sooo excited!

I found these this morning! My big white hen, chick pea, laid her first egg about 3 1/2 weeks ago...the same day we caught a possum in a live trap in the coop! I found her 2 days later all eaten up with flies/maggots! Im not exactly sure what happened but i think the possum mightve scratched her! She doesn't fly and shes a dirty girl...she seeks out mud holes and takes dirt baths! I spent 4 days picking maggots out of her and kept her inside for almost 3 weeks, bathing her daily and tending to her wounds! Shes healing up nicely now...just a few thicker scabs left! She just went bk outside a few days ago! Ive been waiting patiently to see if she would lay eggs again and today i caught her under my living room window behind a bush! When she came out i checked bk there and found these 2 eggs! Im sooo proud of her! She's my favorite chicken...she pecks at the door every morning and comes running to me every time i go outside! Im sooo glad shes feeling better!

I'm glad you're girl is doing better from that raccoon attack. You must have done a good job patching her up. Congrats on getting eggs again!
