You can crunch up the pellets (total PIA) but it would save the trip of returning them. But then again you need to go buy chick starter!

Gas here is anywhere from $1.65 to 1.75.

I tried to get my chickens to eat the pellets and they did - for 2 months but they wasted a lot. My DBF bought crumbles again and they love those. Do chickens ever really like those pellets or do they eat them just because they always think they are starving?

Thank goodness at my feedstore the chick starter has a picture of a baby chick on the bag, and the layer pellets have a picture of a full-grown hen...
