I had a very bad day today too - last day on the job. I knew it was coming and either we had to relocate or bye-bye. I couldn't do it because of the cost of living in Maryland and living where I live now in
Virginia (oh yeah-Richmond suburbs are rural) there is no way I could afford enough land in Maryland to take my chickens with me or ever have chickens again!

My folks originated in Md. Got married and came to IL. thinking they'd go back after a few years. Not.

So we'd make trips to see our grandparents and other relatives. We'd spend half the trip in Ocean City, Md. We lodged on the bay and walked 4 blocks to the ocean.

beach
waves
carnival at the end on the peir
thrashers french fries
snow cones as big as your head
candy kitchen
salt water taffy
asateague island and the wild horses!!!
and the jet skis....
and the fishing
and the pontoon boats and exploring
steamed crabs
phillips by the sea
crabs that pinched your toes
stepping on horse shoe crabs....

aahhh...those were the days.
